Should You take Celadrin (Cetylated Fatty Acids) for Arthritis?

What is Celadrin?

Celadrin is a proprietary blend of a special type of fats, called esterfied fatty acids.

It is marketed primarily as a natural alternative remedy for arthritis and stiff joints.

Does Celadrine Work? What’s the Science Say?

scienceWhile there’s isn’t a lot of clinical data on esterfied fatty acids yet, what data there is, is postive.

Scientific studies have shown that it improves knee function for people with osteoathritis.

When applied as a topical cream, it also appears to be helpful for the same condition.

Scientists aren’t 100% certain how esterfied fatty acids work.

Some suggest that certain fatty acids in Celadrin might help lubricate joints and muscles, making them softer and more pliable.

Others suggest that it inhibits the action of an enzyme (called 5-lipoxygenase) that plays a critical role in inflammation.

At this point, however, these are only theories.

If you’re going to experiment with this supplement, you need to make sure you’re taking a hefty dose.

Positive clinical studies used dosages that ranged from 1,050 mg – 1500 mg/day and up.

Most decent products contain 500 mg capsules of ingredient, meaning you’d need to take 3 capsules per day to obtain the optimal benefits from this joint pain supplement.

Safety and Side Effects

While there isn’t a lot of data on the safety of this supplement, 64 patients used Celadrin for a period of 68 days in one clinical study with no ill or adverse effects.

In addition…

In my research, I didn’t stumble across any feedback to indicate a common or consistent side effect or reaction from taking the supplement.

Of course, that doesn’t mean there aren’t any.

I just didn’t stumble across them.

Drug Interactions

None known at this time.

Personal Experience

To date, I have not used Celadrin or any products that contain esterfied fatty acids as part of their ingredient profiles.

If and when I do, I will update this article to report on whether I noticed any effects on my joint pain.

Customer Reviews, Feedback and Testimonials

customer reviewsFeedback is overwhelmingly positive for this natural arthritis cure.

Some people even report giving it to their pets (dogs) and obtaining great results in their mobility and reduction in joint stiffness. Of the 4 products I reviewed on…

  • 2 had 5 star ratings (out of 5)
  • 1 had 4.5 star ratings
  • 1 had a 4 star ratings

… and that’s based on a total of over 200 reviews. That’s enough feedback to suggest that – even though personal testimonials are unreliable and 100% anecdotal – Celadrin appears to be doing something.

It’s clearly helpful for the vast majority of people who use it.

Have you used Celadrin? We would absolutely LOVE to have your feedback. It would be very helpful! Please share your experiences in the comment field below!

Recommendation: Should You Tale Celadrin for Arthritis?

The Natural Medicines Comprehensive Database says there’s insufficient reliable evidence to rate Celadrin’s effectiveness for osteoarthritis.

That may be so.

However, in my opinion, the combination of…

  • Preliminary clinical evidence.
  • Reasonable price.
  • Positive feedback and reviews.
  • Zero reported side effects or health-related issues

… makes Celadrin a supplement that’s worth experimenting with, even if the science isn’t completely “there” yet.

Arguably, Celadrin isn’t on my list of favorite supplements, for two reasons…

  1. There are simply better natural options available.
  2. There are options that have more supporting clinical evidence.

… but maybe I will feel differently once I try it.

At any rate, this is a supplement I wouldn’t hesitate trying as an experiment and probably will in the future.

If you’re so inclined, by all means go ahead and give it a shot.

They’ll set you back around $15 for a month’s supply, when taken 3 times per day (recommended!).
